Personal information protection (Quebec Law 25)
Last updated: October 28, 2026.
Person in charge of the protection of personal information: Marco Vasconcelos, editor of Você no Quebec — contato@vocenoquebec.com.
What we collect and why
- Weekly newsletter and resume builder updates: your email, the purposes you checked, the exact consent wording, the language, the page and the date. We only use this information to send the emails you asked for.
- Resume templates link by email: if you ask for it, we use your email once to send the download link. It is not added to any list and only remains in Resend’s sending history for that service’s retention period. If you also check the newsletter, the item above applies.
- Contact form: name, email and message, used only to reply. They are not added to any list.
- Resume Builder: your resume data stays in your browser (local storage) and is not sent to our server. The exception is the “Suggest improvements” button: the related text is processed to generate suggestions and is not stored.
- Our forms do not record your IP address or browser data. Anti-spam checks are handled by Cloudflare Turnstile.
Tools that run on your device
The free tools on this site — resume builder, ATS analysis, invitation letter generator, calculators and tracker — run in your browser. The content you type is not sent to our servers, except for the “Suggest improvements” feature in the resume builder, which processes the selected text and does not store it.
Drafts are stored in your browser’s local storage (vocenoquebec-cv-v1 and vocenoquebec-letter-v1) so you do not lose your work. They stay on your device until you use “Reset” or clear your browser data; we have no access to them. PDF and Word files are generated locally in your browser. Your browser also stores: builder preferences (chosen template, cover letter and whether you started from the sample: vocenoquebec-cv-template, vocenoquebec-cv-coverletter, vocenoquebec-cv-sample-choice), your cookie choices (cookie-consent-analytics and cookie-consent-marketing), a flag that you already subscribe to the newsletter so we don’t show the invitation again (vnq_nl_subscribed) and, for the current visit only, whether an invitation was already shown (vnq_cv_zip_invite). None of these are sent to our servers.
Consent
We ask for express consent, with unchecked boxes that are separate for each purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to the person named above.
Service providers and data outside Quebec
- Resend (United States): email delivery and contact list management.
- Cloudflare (United States): website hosting, anti-spam checks and storage of consent records.
- Google (United States): advertising and audience statistics, as described in our cookie policy.
These services may store data outside Quebec. We assess these providers before using them and share only the minimum information required.
How long we keep your data
- Subscribers: for as long as the subscription is active. After you unsubscribe, we remove you from the list within 10 business days and keep only the record of your consent and withdrawal for as long as needed to demonstrate compliance, for a maximum of 3 years.
- Contact messages: up to 2 years.
- Drafts: in your browser, until you use “Clear” or delete your browser data.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, withdraw your consent, or receive the information you provided to us. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAI).
Confidentiality incidents
If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned, as required by law.
User Commitment
The user undertakes to make appropriate use of the content and information that Você no Quebec offers on the site and with an enunciative, but not limiting character:
- A) Not to engage in activities that are illegal or contrary to good faith and public order;
- B) Not to disseminate propaganda or content of a racist, xenophobic nature, any type of illegal pornography, terrorism apology or against human rights;
- C) Not to cause damage to the physical (hardware) and logical (software) systems of Você no Quebec, its suppliers or third parties, to introduce or disseminate computer viruses or any other hardware or software systems that are capable of causing previously mentioned damage.
More Information
Hopefully that has clarified things for you and as was previously mentioned if there is something that you aren’t sure whether you need or not it’s usually safer to leave cookies enabled in case it does interact with one of the features you use on our site.
