The invitation letter supports the visitor visa application. It does not replace financial documents or the guest’s ties to their home country — it explains the purpose of the visit and who the host is.
IRCC does not require notarization by default. Sign it, attach the documents and submit it with the visitor application. If you and your spouse invite together, both sign.
The generated text uses formal language and the elements the officer looks for: host and guest identification, dates, accommodation, who pays what, and the host’s status. Adjust the purpose and notes to your case.
