Frequently asked questions about the Canadian format
Is the builder free?
Yes, 100%. You can fill in, check and download your resume as PDF and Word, use all three templates, the cover letter and the checklist without paying or creating an account.
Do I need to create an account or enter a credit card?
No. There is no sign-up, subscription or charge. Your data is saved only in your browser.
Is my data sent to a server?
Your resume is built and the files are generated in your browser, and your data is saved only on your device. The only exception is the button "Suggest improvements": when you click it, the related text is sent to our server to generate suggestions and is not stored.
Will the resume pass Canadian ATS systems?
The format follows ATS reading best practices (such as Workday and Taleo): one column, standard fonts, clear section headings and selectable text. No tool can guarantee success: what matters is the content and how well it matches the job.
Why doesn’t a Canadian resume include a photo, age or marital status?
Because human rights laws in Canada and Quebec prohibit discrimination in hiring, and recruiters avoid receiving this information. The checker warns you when any of it appears.
